Patio Decorations
Do you have a sparse patio area outside your home that you would like to make better use of? One way to do so is to purchase patio furniture that offers seating and a place to dine or just lounge. A sun umbrella for shade is an ideal accessory for the center of your patio table, some sets come complete with umbrella. You should also consider some patio decorations, because you can make a great space even better with the right accents. There are all kinds of ways to upgrade your patio, but at the least you need a table, chairs and grill or outdoor cooking device for preparing meals and dining in the open air.
That’s not all when discussing patio decor, however. You can make the outside living space of your home look just as coordinated as the inside. One way is to try a theme. For example, if you have a large outdoor living space you could outfit it with chaise lounges and throw pillows in bright Moroccan silks for an exotic look. Or, for a beachy look go for patio furniture cushions with a palm tree, lighthouse or other beach theme print and tiki torches to light up the night. A fire pit or fire bowl is also a classy way to get warmth and light when the sun goes down.
And don’t forget the candles — even for daytime. Citronella candles can give off a charming glow while the scent naturally repels mosquitoes and other flying pests. If you are having a fancy dinner party out of doors nix the citronella and try floating candles in a crystal bowl on the main table. If you are not using tiki torches or a fire pit/bowl for light, consider hanging festive Chinese lanterns. They come in many styles and colors for indoors and out.
A discussion about patio decorations is not complete without talking about the garden. While you may not have a full in-ground flower garden in your patio area, a few strategically placed container gardens can work wonders in bringing life and beauty to the space. Consider coordinating the color of your container garden flowers to your patio furniture cushions, and don’t be afraid to add whimsical gazing balls and cute bird feeders to the space. A hand painted hummingbird feeder brings these coveted little birds to your patio and looks fabulous. With some creative thought you can make an outdoor space that you’ll never want to leave!
